Ruda works mix still photography, film, video, projections, installations, new media, quotes, samples, sound art, documentation, narrative, abstract, spoken word and poetry into a single, unified new art form.
Ruda’s work refers to the development of art as an evolutionary process. Evolution is the key principle of the development of art, culture, science, life and matter itself.
In 2017, Moving Pictures by Yoav Ruda screened at the 8th NYC Independent Film Festival.
Over the last couple of years, Ruda creates live visuals for Israeli top musicians live shows, among them: Berry Sakharof, Ehud Banai, Mashina, Danny Sanderson, Hadag Nahash and Rockfour.
Ruda created several multi channel site-specific Video Mapping works for Southern Lights festival and NightLight TLV festival.
In 2014, following his winning of the Neo:Artprize2013, Ruda exhibited a solo show at Neoartists Gallery in Bolton UK, curated by Mike Chavez-Dawson.
In 2013-2014, Ruda’s work, the ‘Dream Machine’, participated in The LumenPrize, a world tour of an international digital art exhibition,
In 2012 ‘Scale Projection’ exhibited in UICA, Grand Rapids MI. ‘Scale Projection’ by Yoav Ruda and Doron Hillel was a video art installation that was based on video projection on readymade objects.
In 2010, ‘Money & I’ by Yoav Ruda won the second prize in Bitfilm, an international digital film festival.
Ruda co directed Bulldog, an eco activist documentary series, and a documentary film about the internationally acclaimed sculpture Dani Karavan.
Yoav Ruda’s works have been exhibited at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Bloomfield Science Museum of Jerusalem, New York Institute of Technology, Tel Aviv Cinematheque, Galicia Jewish Museum in Krakow and more.
