Vaaraki Wijayaraj-Thavakumar is a Carnatic musician.

Her musical experience began at the age of five, initially trained by Dr Alakananda and then by Mrs Raji Gopalakrishnan.

For the past 15 years, Vaaraki has been privileged to perform solo concerts and accompany dance performances in various organizations in Canada, USA, UK and India. 

Academically Vaaraki holds a Masters in Applied Psychology and Post Graduate in Addictions and Mental Health Work and she is currently working in Social Work for a non-profit agency, serving people living with HIV/Aids who are struggling with Mental Health, Addictions and Homelessness.
