We are thrilled to share with you the first manifestation of Human Signs by Yuval Avital, a global participatory artwork, as a performative live event, as an art ritual. The HUMAN SIGNS LIVE GRID N.1 – New York will be premiered on Human Signs Facebook page on Monday 9th of November at 9PM (CET), 3PM (EST).
HUMAN SIGNS LIVE GRID New York involves outstanding artists living in the city: Muna Tseng, Luisa Muhr, Peter Sciscioli, Iréne Hultman Monti, Chanan Ben Simon, Walter Dundervill, and Jen Anaya, together with Avital’s Human Signs Mantra, becoming co-creators of the artwork and testimonies through voice and gesture.
The performance, coordinated by Peter Sciscioli, took place on a rooftop in Brooklyn with the view of Lower Manhattan in the background.
The LIVE GRID New York is part of Human Signs participation in Manifesta 13 within Real Utopias exhibition curated by Bianca Cerrina Feroni and Melania Rossi. The video is also available on Human Signs dedicated page in Manifesta 13 website.
During the following weeks, other cities around the globe will host LIVE GRID performances, like St. Petersburg, Bandung (Indonesia), Shanghai, Tel Aviv, and others.
Here there’s a sneak peak of the performance…
We thank all the artists, and the team involved in the LIVE GRID New York. It is a privilege to co-create Human Signs with such an incredible community of artists.
