Italy
Giulio Galimberti is a classical, neoclassical and contemporary dancer. He studied classical and contemporary dance in Bergamo at the Academy of Svetlana Pavlova and in Milan. He graduated in dance in 2013, and in the same year he obtained his high school diploma in art. Immediately afterwards he began his career as a dancer.
He has performed on stages of the main Italian opera houses, from the Teatro alla Scala in Milan in the Opera Les Troyens with choreography by Massimiliano Volpini, to the Regio di Torino in Aida. He participated for two seasons at the Arena di Verona Summer Festival and performed at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. He has worked with English companies: two seasons at the New English Ballet Theatre with choreographies by Valentino Zucchetti and Jenna Lee, and one season with the Peter Schaufuss Ballet.
He has worked with French companies, the Operà de Bordeaux where he danced in Charles Jude’s Swan Lake, and German companies, at the Friedrichstadt Palast Berlin for their Vivid grand show. He has also worked for Rai and Mediaset, participating in programs with Roberto Bolle, Danza Con Me, and gala with Andrea Bocelli. He has been in the corps de ballet of the Balletto del Sud and the Israel Ballet in Tel Aviv where he had the opportunity to dance choreographies by Sharon Eyal.
In parallel to his career as a dancer Giulio has continued his university studies that will lead him to a master’s degree in Philosophy at the State University of Milan. Since he was a child he plays the piano and this passion led him to undertake a series of concerts/shows in piano duo with Francesco Libetta in various Italian cities in the double role of pianist and dancer with choreography by the la Scala dancer Stefania Ballone. This project allows him to express himself as a versatile artist who searches for consonances and correspondences in the various arts leading them to merge in some way.
He has also been invited to hold meetings on piano accompaniment teaching for dance as part of the piano master’s course organized by the Fondazione P. Grassi in Martina Franca, and at the Miami Piano Festival Academy in Miami, Florida.
<< We’re obligated to anesthesia. Demoralized from expressing ourselves. Fall asleep in a lazy body. My gestures awaken me and I begin to feel again. The sensations are primitive and primary, aroused by the ancient chant. No emergency can erase them, no technology can replace them.>>
